Cinnamon Turkey Meatballs

I know as soon as you read the title you are saying that cinnamon and turkey sound like a strange mix. But wait, don't knock it until you try it. A while ago, I had this idea that cinnamon would make a great compliment to my turkey meatballs. I then paired the cinnamon turkey meatballs with a simple marinara sauce equalling a match made in heaven. The sweetness of the tomatoes with the cinnamon and the savoury taste of  the ground turkey equals yum. You have to make this recipe!!

Cinnamon Turkey Meatballs

1lb Lean Ground Turkey
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Ground Pepper
1/4 cup Milk
1 Egg
1 jar favourite Tomato Sauce (homemade or store bought)

Preheat oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl, add salt, pepper, and cinnamon to bread crumbs. Stir the crumbs until all the seasoning is incorporated. Then add the milk to the bread crumbs and let the bread absorb the milk. Next add the ground turkey and egg to the bread crumbs. Combine until seasoned bread crumbs are evenly distributed into the turkey.  Begin forming 2" meatballs and place into a baking dish. Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil and bake for about 30 minutes. Serve over pasta with tomato sauce.

Bon Appetit!
